TransPacket’s Ethernet nodes offer a multiplication of link capacity without touching existing traffic. TransPacket and Symmetricom have performed extensive validation of synchronization distribution by transparent tunneling of IEEE 1588 packets with fixed delay through a network of TransPacket Ethernet Fusion H1 nodes. This validates deployment scenarios leveraging 1588 synchronization products by Symmetricom over Ethernet-based networks powered by TransPacket Fusion networking products.

Fusion H1 production traffic field trial selected for OFC Postdeadline session

TransPacket was present at OFC/NFOEC 2013 (OFC/NFOEC) in Anaheim, CA, March 17-21, 2013.

In an extremely tough competition, a paper based on trials with Fusion H1 was selected for the Postdeadline Paper session at the last day of the conference.

The TransPacket Fusion H1 Ethernet node is doubling the mean capacity utilization of an Ethernet wavelength with production traffic. This is demonstrated on a shared packet/circuit layer lightpath in a field-trial with Norwegian carrier UNINETT over 24hours. The results are presented in the paper: ‘Long-haul Ethernet-Transport Packet/Circuit Hybrid Network Field-Trial’.
